The device vs. the website — an important distinction
Our products are Google-free: the devices we sell ship without Google services, Google accounts, or Google telemetry baked into the operating system. That is a claim about the hardware we sell, not about this website. This website, like most commercial sites, does use third-party services — including Google — to function, advertise, and measure performance. We never connect website analytics or advertising data to any individual device we have sold.
What we collect
We collect as little as possible. Sales happen through third-party marketplaces — we receive only the order and shipping details they share with sellers. We use standard analytics and advertising tools to measure site performance and serve ads; those services operate under their own privacy policies. Our community chat (chat.device-freedom.com) runs on a self-hosted Matrix server — conversations are end-to-end encrypted and unreadable to us. All traffic passes through Cloudflare for security and performance. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days for diagnostics only, then deleted.
What we don't do
We do not sell, rent, or broker your personal data. We do not require an account to browse or buy. We do not link website data to any device we have sold.
Cookies
We use a session cookie required for site security. Advertising and measurement services may set additional cookies. Where required by applicable law, you will be asked for consent before non-essential cookies are set, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Your rights
If the law where you are located gives you rights over personal data held about you — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it — you are welcome to contact us at [email protected]. In most cases we hold nothing beyond short-lived server logs, but we will respond to any request promptly and honestly.
